ABOUT THE GAME
Summary
Reversal is a 2D puzzle game about social issues, where you play as a little robot called Rev in a mysterious, hierarchical tower. Over the course of the game, the player will use three reversal-related abilities obtained along the way--gravity reversal, reflection, and flipping light and dark areas--to solve puzzles and climb to the top of the tower.
Ongoing.
Scope
The game is composed of 20 levels spread across three floors. The average playthrough time is around 1.5-2 hours.
3 Powers
Gravity Reversal (introduced on the 1st floor)
Interesting twist for basic traversal. Represents a state where the social hierarchies are no longer fixed.
Reflection (introduced on the 2nd floor)
Spawning a reflection of Rev across the screen. Represents unity and teamwork among people that might not come from the same world but share more commonality than you think.
Light Switch (introduced on the 3rd floor)
Flipping all lit and unlit regions on the screen, including shadows. Represents the relativity of good vs. evil; what looks bright and shiny does not always mean it’s good for the rest of the world.
Narrative Style
The game uses zero texts. We focus on environmental storytelling, animation, and of course, mechanics and puzzles, to tell the story.
